About Us
Energy Venture Capital is a non-profit organization that focuses on reducing the nation's overall carbon footprint by working with low-moderate income households to improve the overall energy efficiency of one's home. We do this through partnering Home Performance with Energy Star (HPwES) participating contractors and general contractors to offer supplemental funding towards weatherization (BPI Standards), solar installations, commercial lighting, and Energy Star rated appliance upgrades. We currently work with contractors in the District of Columbia (DC), Maryland (MD), Virginia (VA), West Virginia (WV), and Delaware (DE).
Beyond providing financial support, our mission is to educate low-moderate income homeowners to develop programs that will provide supplemental financial assistance to low and moderate income households, and as a result, increase participation in utility rebate programs like HPwES , DHCD, Lieep. On the commercial end, we try to help businesses reduce cost and save energy to increase participation.
